Harry “Trey” Harris, III is a sixth generation Texan and can trace his roots in Texas back to before the Civil War. He was born March 24, 1973 in Mineral Wells, Texas and moved to Tarrant County when he was less than a year old. He is a 1991 graduate of Crowley High School, a 1996 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and a 2001 graduate of St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, Texas. Trey is licensed in all Texas Courts as well as Federal Court for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas. Since starting in practice Trey has focused mainly on Family Law but also represents small businesses and handles some criminal defense and probate matters. Trey grew up in and around the heating and air conditioning business and has developed a niche in defending HVAC contractors in various legal matters including civil lawsuits and issues with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
In family law cases, Trey takes a very pragmatic approach and operates with an understanding that a family is being torn apart. He works hard to make sure that everyone involved is treated with respect and dignity while at the same time he makes sure that all the necessary rules outlined by the courts are followed. Trey is a frequent lecturer on the topic of, and has co-authored a manual on, enforcement of court orders. Trey also has published and presented several articles on topics such as: farm and ranch law(as it applies to divorces), evidence, pre-trial scheduling orders, and the dynamics of family law cases.
Trey also believes in giving back to the community. He has served on the Building Standards Commission and the Appeals Board for the City of Fort Worth since 2008 and is the past and current president of the Wedgwood West Neighborhood Association. He took a very active role in negotiating the gas lease for his neighborhood and participated in the Greater Fort Worth Alliance which assisted their neighbors in negotiating what he believes to be one of the best gas leases on the Barnett Shale. He is a strong supporter of New Day Services and makes an effort every day to give back to the community.
Trey is the father an eight year old son who is his pride and joy. Trey loves Fort Worth and Tarrant County and is proud to call it home.
